Sadiq Akbar was born on 11th of April 1975 in a village called Turangzai, in the District of Charsadda, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. He received his first undergraduate degree of B.Sc. Electronics with distinction position in 1996 and graduate degree of M.Sc. Electronics with distinction position in 1998. He completed his M.S degree of Telecom and Networks with distinction position in 2010 from the Gandhara University Peshawar, Pakistan. He completed PhD in 2018 from The University of Peshawar.
His main research interests are parameter estimation, system identification, evolutionary computing, swarm intelligence, and optimization methods. His hobbies include cricket, football and net surfing. His future plans are to promote research culture between industries and academia. He has been working as Lecturer at Department of Electronics since 2000 and working as Assistant Professor since 2010 in the said department.
