Ulasai Taroon: Youth Capacity Building Workshops
The Department of Social Work, University of Peshawar in Collaboration with CRSS had organized a two days workshop on Youth Capacity Building.
The main theme of the event is to Empowered and capacitated youths as peace builders; enhancing their knowledge, understanding and capacity in the issues that are pre-requisites to counter and prevent extremism and lead peaceful conflict resolution i.e. equal citizenry, tolerance of diversity and different opinions, respect for fundamental human rights, good governance, responsible citizenship, fundamentals of democracy and rule of law, as a measure of ensuring social peace and harmony.
Trained youths/ future leaders in the universities across KP and FATA on the core concepts to equip them with skills, knowledge, and capacity necessary to take a stronger role in countering and preventing violent extremism.
To foster the environment of reinforcement, there will be large scale annual gatherings of the most promising students/ select beneficiaries of the program for both debate competitions, and continued re-engagement and re-iteration of the core concepts. These nominations will be based on continued mutual engagement with these youth, and help to reinforce these core concepts.
