Center for Social Entrepreneurship Orientation

To enable and motivate community involvement in social sector development, The Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform has established "Center for Social Entrepreneurship", for promotion of innovation and enterprise, development of public-private partnership models that are effective and to develop strategies and policies to counter social issues in Pakistan. This center aims to increase communities' capacity to develop local solutions to social problems using sustainable business models.

NIC Peshawar (www.nicpeshawar.pk) is hosting a one hour orientation session with the students to create below mentioned awareness about Social Entrepreneurship and inspire them to apply for the competition in order to win the seed money for their prospective ideas:  

  • Themed sessions on helping the Social entrepreneurs to assist the ventures in developing their skill sets.
  • Networking events to connect the social entrepreneurs with investors, experts and sharing of ideas.
  • Pitch events, training, marketing and other activities undertaken to promote the sector and organization.
  • Annual seed money grant to 25 graduates via business plan competition across Pakistan
  • 20-25 social ventures to be supported and given resources in the accelerator program yearly. Funding for these ventures to be raised from private sector/government or grant funding.
  • Training for the skill development of the entrepreneurs.
  • Research and publications with participation of academia.
