Girls Outshine in UoP Bachelor Examination


Girls students outshined boys in results of BA/BSC University of Peshawar announced on Monday. First three positions clinched by girl’s students of Jinnah College for Women UoP and Fazaia Degree College Peshawar Cantt.

Sumbal Naz and Noreen Amin of BSC students of Jinnah College for Women obtained 511 and 507 marks out of 550. While Madeeha Gul of Fazaia Degree College got third position with 472 marks. In Bachelor of Art discipline Masooma Zahra of FG Degree College for Women, Peshawar Cantt got 439 marks, Muhammad Asad Khan Akhunzada of Edwards College Peshawar Cantt obtained 422 marks and Maheeha Hussain of Jinnah College for Women UoP secured 417 marks.

The result was announced in a ceremony held at University of Peshawar, while controller of examination Prof Dr Rashid Khan announced the result. According to detail in BA/BSC part-I a total of 20228 students appeared in examination in which 4239 declared passed with a passing percentage of 20.96%. Similarly, in BA/BSC part-II 15751 students were appeared in which 6177 declared passed with passing percentage of 39.22%.

The overall passing percentage of students was 28.95%. On this occasion Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rasul Jan distributed certificates, shields among the students and their concerned principals and also offered free education for three top position holders in UoP.

On this occasion UoP Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Rasul Jan congratulated all positions holders and their parents and urged to continue hard work in future and get high name in future. He maintained that the University of Peshawar has abolished third division in BA, B. Sc so this year to enhance the standard of the education and this will have a positive impact on the sgudents career. The ceremony was attended by Controller Examination Rashid Khan, Registrar Dr. Syed Fazl I Hadi, Deans of Faculties and staff members of UoP, principals of different colleges and position holder student’s parents.
