Seminar on Allama Iqbal’s Vision at Pakistan Study Centre


Pakistan Study Centre University of Peshawar arranged a seminar on Allama Iqbal’s Vision in the centre on 8th November 2016. Study Aid Foundation Peshawar collaborated in arranging the event.  Prof. Dr. Dost Muhammad Khan Director Sheikh Zayed Islamic Centre, Prof. Dr. Fakhr-ul-Islam Director Pakistan Study Centre and Muhammad Atique, Coordinator Study Aid Foundation addressed the seminar.

 Inaugurating the seminar, Prof. Dr. Fakhr-ul-Islam Director Pakistan Study Centre said that Allama Iqbal had a multi-dimensional personality. He was a poet, a philosopher and a statesman. However, all facets of his personality were dominated by fear of Allah, love for Prophet Muhammad (PBUOH) and concern for welfare of Muslims. He said that the prominent thing about Iqbal was that he remained in the West but criticized it on the basis of his keen observation.

 In his key note address, Prof. Dr. Dost Muhammad Khan Director Sheikh Zayed Islamic Centre gave details of the condition of India on the eve of Allama Iqbal’s birth and then progress of his struggle. He said that the fall of Mughul dynasty and later the defeat of Indians in the 1857 War of Independence brought untold miseries for India Muslims. He said from the 3rddecade of 20th Century till his death, Iqbal guided and led the Indian Muslims in their struggle towards freedom. He said it was Iqbal who persuaded Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to come back from England and lead the Muslims of India. He said for ideological reconstruction of Indian Muslims, he invited Mulana Maudoodi to leave his native town in Hyderabad Deccan and shift to Pathankot in Eastern Punjab. He said had Iqbal not been there, the history of the Indian Subcontinent would have been different.

Muhammad Atique, Coordinator Study Aid Foundation urged upon the new generation to follow the footsteps of Allama Iqbal and shoulder responsibilities of future with dedication and fervor.
