Director PSC speaks at Police Training College Hangu Seminar

Director Pakistan Study Centre University of Peshawar Prof. Dr. Fakhr-ul-Islam was the Chief Guest and Key Note speaker in a Seminar at Police Training College Hangu. Commandant of Police Training College Hangu Dr. Fasihuddin Ashraf presided over the function. The theme of the seminar was “Quaid-e-Azam: A man of principles”. Delivering his key note address on the theme, Prof. Dr. Fakhr-ul-Islam said that in all stages of life and career, Quaid-e-Azam stuck to his principles. Even in childhood, he was different from his fellow young men. In pursuit of knowledge and career, he worked hard. He did not stop for good but kept on going for the best. Dr. Fakhar said that in both capacities as lawyer and politician, Quaid-e-Azam excelled. It was his sheer determination and persistent struggle which made achievement of Pakistan possible. He said that though Quaid-e-Azam ruled for a very short span of time, but he left undeletable impression in the corridors of power. He stood for justice, merit, fair play and spared no one who tried to   exert pressure for gaining ulterior motives. Dr. Fakhar referred to Quaid-e-Azam’s speeches to the First Constituent Assembly (1947) and Civil servant at Peshawar (1948). In those two speeches, he has given his philosophy of governance. To Quaid-e-Azam, government officials were responsible to serve the public without any fear of political pressure. He termed corruption as the biggest menace. In his presidential address, Commandant of Police Training College Hangu Dr. Fasihuddin Ashraf thanked the guest speaker for sparing time and addressing the seminar. He said that KP police have shifted it paradigm and now it is becoming people-friendly force. He said that we have to inculcate the principles of Quaid-e-Azam in the minds of new generation, police force and civil servants. On this occasion young police officers delivered speeches and school children presented tableaus.
