UoP inks MoU with Cykiq to start short distance bicycling commute for students, teachers and residents


(Peshawar):University of  Peshawar has inked  today an memorandum with CYKIQ to provide a short distance bicycle commute for students, teachers and residents of the university. Pro Vice Chancellor Prof.Dr.Muhammad Abid and Hamza Afridi CEO  CYKIQ has signed the memorandum of understanding today at UoP  .The project has been envisioned through the efforts of Planning and Development section of the University.

The university of Peshawar will be second university in the country after NUST,Islamabad to provide this bicycle renting facility to its inhabitants.The project is aimed to have a more greener pollution-free campus, congestion free and  Healthier campus.

The project will kick start with the provision of 20 bicycles to University and will reach at the tally of 150 at the end of the year. The deputy director student societies university of Peshawar  will monitor the progress along focal persons and employees appointed by CYKIQ. The renting facility will be availed through third party wallet I.e Jazz, easy paisa and simsim. The renting amount will be five rupees to 15 minutes per thirty minutes ride depending upon the time, the commuter wants to take.The renting space will be provided at different locations of the university.Meanwhile, an application will also be provided to commuters on smart phones with easy Urdu  understanding. The Chinese make bicycles will remotely represent University colour and will have security lock based on GPS, bluetooth and mechanical numeric.The company name is a fusion of bicycles and kick word.
