UoP inks MoU with PRCS to work jointly for effective work force in disaster management


University of Peshawars’ centre for disaster Preparedness and Management and Pakistan Red Crescent Society has signed a memorandum of understanding to boost collaboration under global declarations and national policy frameworks for coming three years. A joint working group will be set up to work for the Climate Change adaptation, disaster risk management, first aid and youth and volunteers work.

VC UoP Prof. Dr.Muhammad Asif Khan and PRCS chairman Lt.Gen.Hamid Khan signed the MoUs representing the two partner organizations during the concluding session of the International Conference on Disaster Management at SSAQ museum Conference Hall on Wednesday.

According to MoU, Capacity building/skill development, sustainable youth clubs, internships will be initiated to work for disaster resilience workforce. Ms,Maria Ghani of UoP and Muhammad Iqbal of PRCS are being assigned as focal person for partnering organizations.

All joint activities and interventions will be monitored and evaluated together and will greatly benefit the students in arming themselves with latest techniques and  advocacy success stories.
