Peshawar – December 17, 2024 – The Department of International Relations is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Minhas Majeed Khan as the new Chairperson of the Department, effective December 17, 2024. Dr. Khan succeeds Dr. Soherwaerdi who held the position since 2017.

As Dr. Khan assumes leadership of the Department of International Relations at the University of Peshawar, her vision is centered on enhancing the department's global impact through education and cooperation in International Relations. Key initiatives will include developing partnerships with international universities to facilitate exchange programs and collaborative research, advocating for policies that enhance global educational standards, and promoting conflict resolution and diplomacy training as core components of the curriculum. The department will also expand its online learning platforms to reach a broader international audience, incorporating advanced technology to support virtual exchanges and seminars. Under Dr. Khan’s guidance, these efforts aim to cultivate a deeper understanding of global dynamics among students, preparing them to become effective leaders in international affairs.

Looking ahead, Dr. Khan will focus on these initiatives/strategic directions ensuring that Department of International Relations continues to excel in its mission. Her vision for the future aligns closely with the organization’s goals and values, promising an exciting new chapter for the organization.
