Ayaz Khan successfully completed his PhD (Research  Based) and defended his dissertation titled "Exploring gaps in the investigation process of countering financing of terrorism in Pakistan" under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jamil Ahmad at the Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies, University of Peshawar. His degree was officially issued on 3rd November 2021, and he was formally awarded the degree during the convocation held on 30th October 2022.
