Research Interest:  PRE-CLINICAL MODELS: My research activities are focused on testing compounds from both synthetic and natural origin for the management of: Pain (neuropathic, nociceptive, chemotherapy induced), Inflammation, Pyrexia, Ulcerogenicity, Alzehimer, Depression, Anxiety, Dependence, tolerance, Vomiting.Presently,project titled "Novel targeted heterocyclic compound(s) beta hydroxy ketone derivative-Potential candidates for Alzheimer's disease" granted by Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan under NRPU scheme is in progress. 2018-2021.

Dr. Gowhar Ali, Ph.D. in Pharmacology, currently working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Peshawar, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Pakistan.

Dr. Gowhar Ali has conducted his Ph.D. research on “Preclinical Evaluation of Selected Synthetic Bioisosteric Nitrogen-Containing Salicyl Alcohol Derivatives in Inflammation, Pyrexia, Ulcerogenicity and Pain Modalities”.He has got training in the field of pharmacology and carried out research of preclinical evaluation of compounds both from the synthetic and natural origin for their potential use in inflammation, pain, pyrexia, and neuropathy. During his Ph.D. studies, he worked on live animals, performed surgical procedures and analyzed different biochemical parameters in blood samples.

He has the expertise of handling and conducting research on laboratory animals (Mice, Rats, Rabbits, Pigeons) and performing related experiments including phlebotomy. He has published Forty five publications in well-reputed peer-review international/national journals with a cumulative impact factor of about 65+ with total citations 338 .

He has an academic distinction of Gold medal in B.Pharm. His resume clearly reflects his excellent academic career. He has a university teaching experience of ten years and has been an examiner of several universities. Presently, he is teaching the subject of pharmacology and Therapeutics-I, II to the students of second and third Prof. Pharm.D. He is also teaching the subject of chemotherapy to the students of M.Phil and Ph.D. Furthermore, he has supervision experience of projects of pharmacology and clinical pharmacy, conducted by students in various teaching hospitals of Peshawar as partial fulfillment for the award of the degree of Pharm.D, MPhil, and Ph.D.
