WSSP enters in to a five year partnership with UoP to put-up credible data on solid waste management


Peshawar: In a ‘MoU’ signing ceremony, Water Supply and sanitation services Peshawar has entered in to five year working with University of Peshawar to collaborate research and academic cooperation for fighting climate change, and collecting reliable date for water conservancy and solid waste disposal. The Chief Executive Officer Syed Zafar Ali Shah and vice chancellor university of Peshawar Prof.Dr.Muhammad Asif Khan  signed the memorandum of understanding . Dr.Bushra khan will be the focal person from the university of Peshawar to chalk out the future course of action in the light of memorandum to stage seminar, conduct workshops and build a strong research oriented team to help WSSP and UoP built community oriented solutions.

Syed Zafar Ali Shah while talking to VC university of Peshawar briefed the participants that   primarily WSSP is serving 44 union councils of Peshawar and 110 million has so far  recovered from consumers  while he will take on consumers to recollect remaing 400 million rupees as arrears to company . He said that WSSP is working closely to generate power from solid waste as a future project. He hoped that UoP endeavor for WSSP is highly needed because characterization of solid waste and water conservancy will be the next shot for the company to harness.

During the meeting, it was also decided to  make a joint committee of UoP and WSSP officials  to  look in to possible provision of services  in future by WSSP to university.
