INTERNSHIP RECORD- INSTITUTE OF PEACE AND CONFLICT STUDIES.
The Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies, University of Peshawar, has hosted a number of dedicated interns who contributed to research, documentation, and institutional support. Through this internship program, students and young professionals gained valuable practical experience under the guidance of IPCS faculty and staff. Their contributions not only supported the academic and administrative activities of the Institute but also enhanced their own skills in research, project management, and peacebuilding studies. Along with its own students, the Institute also hosted interns from the Pak-US Alumni Network, further strengthening academic and professional linkages. The following record highlights the interns who successfully served at IPCS.
Saba Gul (PUAN Intern at IPCS)
Saba Gul completed her internship at the Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies under the Pak–US Alumni Network National Internship Program from June to August 2025. During her placement, she actively contributed to website management, research documentation, drafting formal communications, and organizing departmental records. She also supported seminars, workshops, and outreach activities on peacebuilding and interfaith harmony, gaining valuable experience in project management, communication, and public engagement. This internship enhanced her technical, organizational, and professional skills while allowing her to contribute meaningfully to IPCS’s academic and outreach initiatives.
Rekhmina Naeem Babar (Intern, IPCS)
Rekhmina Naeem Babar, a student of IPCS, served as an intern at the Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies from December 2024 to May 2025. During her internship, she contributed to research work, academic activities, and administrative tasks. The experience allowed her to learn extensively and enhance her skills in research, organization, and academic engagement. She is currently serving as United Nation Volunteer (UNV) at the Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies, University of Peshawar.
Kashan Afridi (Intern, IPCS)
Kashan Khan, a student of IPCS, successfully completed his internship from May to July 2025. During his time at IPCS, he worked on data management, paper arrangement for MS and PhD batches, and assisted in organizing academic seminars and events. He also contributed as an organizer in a debate competition during the Peace Walk and served as an invigilator for the PMS examination. Kashan actively participated in several workshops and activities, including those on peacebuilding, interfaith harmony, and youth resilience, which enhanced his skills in research, coordination, and conflict resolution.
Ahad Afridi (Intern, IPCS)
Ahad Afridi, a student of IPCS from the Bachelor’s Program (Session 2021–2025), completed his internship at the Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies from May to July 2025. During his internship, he contributed to research assistance, academic support, and administrative tasks at the department. His work helped in strengthening departmental records and organizing academic activities. The experience enabled him to enhance his skills in research, teamwork, and professional communication, providing a strong foundation for his future career.
Alveena Javed (Intern, IPCS)
Alveena Javed, a student of IPCS, completed her internship at the Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies, where she gained valuable exposure to both research and administrative work. Her experience provided her with insights into office discipline, professional ethics, and the balance between academic and administrative responsibilities. The internship helped her grow both personally and professionally, equipping her with skills that will support her future career
Maheen Kamran (Intern, IPCS)
Maheen Kamran, a student of IPCS from the Bachelor’s Program (Session 2021–2025), completed her internship at the Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies from May to July 2025. During her internship, she contributed to seminar and event arrangements, participated in workshops on peace and conflict resolution, and assisted in departmental administrative and research tasks. This experience helped her strengthen her organizational, communication, and teamwork skills, preparing her for future academic and professional pursuits.
Muneeba Khan (Intern, IPCS)
Muneeba Khan, a student of IPCS, completed her internship under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jameel Ahmad Chitrali. During her internship, she contributed to both research and administrative tasks, which broadened her understanding of peace and conflict studies beyond the classroom. She also played an active role in organizing and facilitating sessions under the Pakistan–US Alumni Network on peacebuilding and interfaith harmony. This experience enhanced her academic and professional skills, while also building her confidence to take initiative, work collaboratively, and think critically about promoting peace in practical and meaningful ways.
