Introduction:

The IT infrastructure of University of Peshawar consists of a very large high-speed campus network, linked to overseas Internet, serving the information and computing needs of tens of thousands of users in teaching, learning, research, administration and personal communications.

All facilities, resources and services available over the Internet and Intranet are accessible by students and staff on the campus network, wired or wireless, locally or overseas. Teaching, learning and research are further facilitated by UOP’s rich online learning materials, collaboration tools and abundant online digital library resources.

We at the Centre for IT Services (CITS) manage the campus-wide IT infrastructure and facilitate access to all UoP IT, learning and teaching resources. We also develop and manage e-services and applications, learning solutions and applications, and provide IT technical support to UOP students and staff.

We take pride in supporting schools, colleges, Institutes and departments, providing IT users with great experience by making things Easy and Friendly. Our e-services are accessible on campus allowing students and staff to always stay connected with the University and the world, anywhere, anytime!

To facilitate in creative, innovative, and responsible Information and Communication Technology (ICT) services/applications in academic programs that is lined up with the mission of the University.

Mission:

To acquire Information and Communication Technology services/applications for the development of the users, students and faculty members of the University to enhance their capacity building with modern technologies. Our goal is “To empower users with great e-services 24/7”.

Objectives:

To facilitate ICT graduates who fulfill the industry needs efficiently
To proactively embark in research, publication activities in Academic area
To enhance the Academic knowledge and ICT skills in the University students and faculty through Seminars, Conference and Workshops
To provide conducive IT infrastructure campus-wide for teaching, research and learning
To facilitate users with IT facilities on timely respond of their various complaints through online helpdesk management system
