Dr. Sara Shahzad received her Ph.D. from Austria in 2010 with a specialization in Software Engineering. She was awarded the degree with Honour on achieving highest grade. She is leading the Software Engineering research group at the Department of Computer Science. The group is actively working in the areas of Agile, Green, and Sustainable Software Engineering, Software Quality, and Software Architecture. She has a special interest in reforming Software Engineering education to bridge the gap between academia and the software development industry. She utilizes diverse ways of teaching at undergraduate level to have optimal learning outcome, such as flipped classroom mode and project based teaching. The current focus of her reasearch is to promote integrated research and practices in Software Engineering with a focus on software sustainability.
