Positions Vacant: Research Fellows in HEC Funded Project


Applications are invited from Pakistani Nationals, who are not married to a foreign national, for the following positions on contract basis, under Higher Education Commission project No. 6(05) /ACAD/SS&H/HEC/2018/77, entitled “Waziristan at the Crosscurrent of Social Change”, with the following terms and conditions:

Project Duties

Candidates should have good knowledge and working experience related to Social Science Research and strong data analysis and report writing skills. Duties and responsibilities include assisting P.I. and Co-P.I. in project related work, conducting fieldwork in North and South Waziristan for data collection, analysis and helping in preparation of project report.

The eligible candidates should have PhD degree in Political Science, Anthropology, or Peace and Conflict Studies with a focus on the tribal borderland or Pukhtun Society from an HEC recognized University.

2            

Research Fellows (PhD Scholars) (03)

               

The eligible candidates should be enrolled in PhD degree program in Political Science, Anthropology, or Peace and Conflict Studies with a focus on the tribal borderland or Pukhtun Society the University of Peshawar.         

3            

Research Fellows (M.Phil Scholars) (03)

               

The eligible candidates should be enrolled in MPhil degree program in Political Science, Anthropology, or Peace and Conflict Studies with a focus on the tribal borderland or Pukhtun Society the University of Peshawar.         


Project  information:

Presently Waziristan stands at the crosscurrent of social change. While the War on Terror brought adversity to the tribal agency, the post-war time is (and should be considered as) the time of opportunity for change—social change, economic development, and political modernization. This project aims to study the following aspects of Waziristan agency: a) the nature and extent of change in the segmentary, egalitarian society, b) territorial redistribution and rehabilitation of tribes and clans, and c) the potential for political integration and economic development in the wake of CPEC.

Contract duration:

The initial appointment will be for six months, which will be extended for further six months based on the satisfactory performance of the applicant and availability of the funds from donor Agency.
