Ph.D. in Peace and Conflict Studies

About the Course:

The Post-Graduate Program of Ph.D. in Peace & Conflict Studies is offered based on the scholastic expertise available at the Institute from time to time. The initial focus, therefore, is on Violence, Gender, and Education, however not limited to these fields. Institute is inclined to consider the University of Peshawar as a broader umbrella while counting on its human resource; therefore scholars have the option to pick areas of research in diverse fields ranging from Criminology, Sociology, Anthropology, and Political Science to Journalism, International Relations, Pakistan and Regional Studies and Theological Interests.

About the Course:

The Post-Graduate Diploma program is designed for professionals having academic and practical backgrounds in diverse fields of Peace & Conflict Studies. Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies desire to enroll experienced professionals from the development and/or security sector for having a better theoretical understanding of conflict dynamics, conflict transformation, and peacebuilding and its implication in their respective fields.

M.Sc in Peace and Conflict Studies

About the Course:

The Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies aims to attract and develop those groups of students who wish to deepen their understandings of the processes involved in conflicts and are interested in sharpening their knowledge of how to manage conflicts constructively. It offers the conjectural foundations that emboss the essential social psychological routes involved in understanding and managing conflicts at all levels: interpersonal, intergroup, organizational, and international.

The Masters program offered in Peace and Conflict Studies in 13 universities of Pakistan gives its degree the title of “MSc” not “MA” with the same logic. Peace and Conflict Studies is established globally in the Post-World War II scenario to dig out logical reason with grounded theories, why we experience, produce, and consume violence? The basic theorem is how societies in the past have addressed the conflicting issues peacefully? The application of contemporary scientific methods could help us resolve our future conflicts and address peacebuilding in our society at large.

BS in Peace and Conflict Studies

About the Course:

This undergraduate Program is designed to produce human resource with diverse theoretical knowledge on the concepts of Peace, Conflict, Development, and Socio-Economic Integration through Social Science Theoretical Frameworks and Indigenous Research on Radicalization, Alternative Dispute Settlements (Jirga) in Pakistan.
